About the Workshop
The ideology of the National Socialists included the “People’s Community.” They aimed for a racially pure, capable, and healthy German people. The community was meant to make Germany great again. The National Socialists promised work and prosperity for all, but those who didn’t belong were persecuted and excluded.

The Lebenshilfe art workshop is an open group of people with and without disabilities who meet weekly in the Berlinerische Galerie to make art together. The group has been in existence since 1996 and has worked on various topics, but the focus has always been on creating a place for exchange.
