“Letters to Berlin” is a project of the alternative trans culture of remembrance by TIN* people for TIN* people. This culture of remembrance is intended to be empowering, which is not so easy when it comes to the topic of National Socialism. Nevertheless, it does exist: Documents that look at the lives of trans people through the eyes of those affected and not through the eyes of the police, authorities or medicine. These include the “Letters to Berlin”.

Within the exhibition the letters are accompanied by a picture of the seamstress Hella Knabe and paintings on canvas by the artist Hani חאני Esther Indictor Portner. Under every audio you can find the English-Language transcript.
