This is a call for participation in the project “Bridges of Remembrance”. In particular, for the participation in developing our multimedia archive and an exhibition in Berlin. Deadline for proposals: 14th of May 2023.
The general goal of the project is to critically examine how World War II, National Socialism and the fight against it is remembered in different regions and different groups. Due to the current war in Ukraine, we are also investigating connections between the current war and historical events in the context of World War II.
Within the framework of our project, we are publishing a multimedia archive and an exhibition in Berlin that deals with the different narratives and questions around the topic of remembering the Second World War. We have already collected a number of contributions for this, you can find them in the Media Archive. It is important to us to show different methodologies and approaches. By now, we have a Brochure, soundscapes, educational video games, Texts about the war against Ukraine and audio contributions.
This time we are specifically looking for Contributions to these 5 main topics:
- Remembrance of the victims of the Porajmos
- Remembrance of people with disabilities
- Jewish remembrance culture
- Queer remembrance culture
- Current historical narratives used in different regions to make politics.
An anti-national and solidarity perspective is important to us, contributions that do not speak from these perspectives will not be considered. Thematically, for example, we are looking for contributions that show what memorial work looks like within the various groups.
Medium: Text, video, sound, paintings, performances (anything is possible).
Ideally, contributions can be used both for our multimedia website and for the exhibition in Berlin. However, they can also be used for only one. We can pay for the contributions. Please indicate how much fee you need. We envisage a price range from 150 Euros to a maximum of 800 Euros. Please also give an approximate estimate of your workload. Also, indicate additional materials and costs that you need for the implementation.

A proposal should be 200-500 words.
