Edit Post Site Icon Open Call - Educational Travel to Moldova - Apply until 15th March General Information when: 28 April 26 - 04 May 26 (5 days of program with the first and the last days being travel dates) where: Chișinău (Moldova) with whom: Queer Cafe (Moldova), Art Platforma (Moldova), Solidarity Collectives (Ukraine), Human Constanta (Belarus), Prismatica (Belarus), Educat Collective (Germany) and Coopera (Germany) language: most of the events will take place in English, so, participants should be able to understand and respond. registration link: the number of participants is limited, in order to to take part, please, fill out the form: https://cloud.educat-kollektiv.org/apps/forms/s/J6xcjY6bqnSEkbMjRYZKayfw What is it about During the trip the participants will: explore the topics of decolonising cultures of remembrance, queer remembrance, as well as queer perspectives of today learn about Moldova’s cultures of memory, influenced by multiple empires and states, and marked by fragmented history, prolonged repression of traumatic experiences, and competing narratives participate in interactive workshops, screenings, discussions, and site visits, and to translocally exchange perspectives with other participants, try collaborative decolonial artistic practices. As part of the program, participants will attend the Queer Voices International Film Festival in Chișinău (around one third of the program). The festival is organised by our project partner A.O. MOLDOX. The rest of the program is organised by ArtPlatforma, Queer Cafe, Coopera and other partners. As one of the possibilities, there will be an option to contribute to a final public exhibition bringing together the collective work and ideas. The exhibition is organised as part of the festival. The emphasis of the trip will be on mutual learning, group dynamics, understanding and mutual assistance, and consideration for one another. Who can apply We are looking for participants who are interested in the topics of remembrance work and decolonial approaches. Your place of residency (where you currently live) needs to be in the funded partner locations Belarus, Germany, Moldova, Poland or Ukraine. It is important to note that this project stands firmly against nationalism and promotes dialogue. Please keep this in mind when applying. So far the project language is English. A lot of the program will be in English language. We will try to include other languages, such as Romanian. Costs Participants will travel to Chișinău, Moldova, where accommodation and meals will be provided. Costs of travel under 350 EUR will be covered as well. For more information and if there are any questions, you can contact: remembrance@educat-kollektiv.org About the project Decolonising Cultures of Remembrance questions current narratives on history and their (mis)use in the light of ongoing war in Ukraine, growing tensions and the rising far-right movement. We want to bring together activists, foster dialogue, promote strategies of resilience and negotiate the question “has remembrance failed?”, putting the focus on marginalized and decolonial perspectives. Initiators Educat - Educational Collective Educat e.V. is a collective of education workers from Dresden, Rostock and Berlin, who do diversity- conscious and critical education, work on remembrance and emancipatory and experimental educational formats. Together with a lot of partners and comrades Educat is facilitating Cultures of Remembrance since 2021. Project partners The project has been carried and inspired by a huge network of comrades, activists, artists and educators.
